Adayana Signs Career Builder Program Agreement with the University of Allahabad
Hyderabad, August 2,2007 -- Adayana has signed an agreement with the University of Allahabad for the introduction of “employability” skills programs to its students. These programs include the Career Builder Program and Certification Program. This collaborative effort is part of a workforce development initiative aimed at reducing the gap between student readiness and employer expectations of a ready workforce. The programs have been developed by PTL U (Performance Through Learning for You), an Adayana workforce development initiative.
Commenting on this partnership, Dr. Rajiv Tandon, CEO Adayana Inc. said, “This is a milestone in bridging the employability gap which will help Indian graduates leapfrog into a global workforce culture.” “This initiative - which leverages technology for training our graduates in employment readiness – is of historic significance, and the first of its kind in this region,” said Professor R G Harshe, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Allahabad.
The Career Builder Program which will be launched as part of the initiative is a 6 month program for employability that addresses English, computer, communication and workplace skills. Adayana also proposes to launch Certification Programs in Domain Knowledge providing industry and domain training for emerging specializations in the economy, beginning with certifications in the Agriculture, Automotive, Retail and Healthcare market segments. These programs consist of electronic courseware and assessments leading to a certification, and will be delivered through an online learning campus. The online program includes onsite human facilitation by Adayana.
Employability skills have become a major challenge today because globalization and computerization are rapidly transforming workplaces. The skills provided by basic education need to be supplemented with a strong set of global workplace skills, industry knowledge and functional-knowledge of emerging role-based specializations.
