Air Force Selects Adayana and Vcom3D to Develop Diverse, Avatar-based Courseware
Falls Church, VA – Adayana Government Group and Vcom3D were awarded a contract with the U.S. Air Force Negotiation Center of Excellence (NCE) to create culturally diverse, game-based courseware. The development of these online courses is based on Adayana® GameWare Learning Solutions℠ – an approach that combines the structured learning of Web-based courseware with job-focused gaming elements to achieve more effective learning and superior skill retention through interactive practice. This solution will be used to teach all Air Force personnel the importance of language and cultural considerations when negotiating logistics, readiness, transportation, and personnel issues in foreign countries. To enhance the student learning experience, Adayana and Vcom3D will use its authoring software to create culturally diverse avatars – interactive computer representations of people from different cultures – that respond to student input and knowledge of non-verbal cues in culturally sensitive settings. As NCE envisions future course focusing on other continents, the use of flexible, 3D avatars for cultural communications will provide more realistic training for Air Force personnel deploying globally.
“We are excited to leverage our Adayana® GameWare Learning Solutions℠ in partnership with Vcom3D to support the Air Force NCE. We know that warfighters will benefit tremendously from this innovative solution. This strategic effort in providing new learning capabilities will strengthen Adayana’s relationship with the Air Force community, and will reinforce Adayana’s focus on creating training simulations specifically based on job performance tasks.” said Jeff Kidwell, President, Adayana Government Group. “Training for Irregular Warfare missions with Vcom3D’s expressive and culturally appropriate avatars will enable the Air Force to practice recognition of non-verbal cues.” stated Carol Wideman, CEO, Vcom3D, Inc.
