Problem-Solving Boot Camp

Situation

One of the largest equipment finance companies traditionally approached problem-solving through detailed data analysis and Six Sigma-based approaches. Although effective, the organization wanted to find a “faster, better, cheaper” way to make decisions with actionable outcomes. It also wanted to empower team members to solve problems during both assigned internal projects and daily job functions.

This was among the most applicable and insightful courses I’ve experienced in my career, and I’m excited to see how this new way of thinking can enable more significant contributions to our business.

Solution

The finance company employed Adayana to facilitate a rigorous, five-day problem-solving boot camp, which helped participants develop solutions through a team-based, hypothesis-driven approach. Participants used TEAM and FOCUS principles on an actual “live” business case study from their organization and presented their recommendations to the Senior Management Team.

Success

Many participants were excited to return to their jobs to begin implementing what the techniques they had learned. The company plans to implement this course semi-annually, to develop a “certification process” around the program, and to continue supporting Boot Camp graduates with follow-up activities to reinforce this methodology.
